Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #13

Hi, everyone !!

I'm slowly beginning to realise that, when it comes to NEW CHANNELS being added to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store, most of them seem to start showing up on either Thursday or Friday each week. So it appears that, like a lot of things in this beloved country of ours, new Roku channels are a bit like buses... you wait for ages without seeing one and then a whole bunch turn up at once. This makes things a bit hectic when trying to compile a post (such as this) for publication every Saturday, especially when you consider that it will always have been preceded by a Friday night, if you catch my drift. Such are the trials and tribulations of regular blogging, I suppose !!

Anyway, let's get on with the details for the current 'Weekly RoundUp' of NEW ADDITIONS to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. This time, there are EIGHT NEW CHANNELS which have been added during the past seven days. These latest additions to the Roku UK Channel Store provided FRESH CONTENT to the News, Weather, Sport, Internet TV, Special Interest, Screensavers & Apps plus Religion & Spirituality genres (i.e. categories).

In keeping with previous installments from the 'Weekly RoundUp' series, details of these new channels have all been listed below, together with links to obtain further information {by clicking on the channel name(s) beneath the respective channel icon(s) as pictured} and to read a 'Roku Guide' review (where available) for each one:-

SKINNY STORK..................................COST: FREE + $239.00 (MONTHLY) [Roku Guide Review]

PLEASE NOTE: That whilst the SkinnyStork channel is FREE-TO-ADD to your Roku player and does enable you to take advantage of a TWO-WEEK FREE TRIAL, that includes streaming online workouts AND access to ALL MEMBERSHIP TOOLS, after that YOU WILL REQUIRE A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION to continue. You will find details of exactly what is included when you opt for any of the available MEMBERSHIP PLANS with SkinnyStork via THIS LINK. However, with "Regular" membership clocking in at $239.00 (US Dollars) PER MONTH, the prospect of having to fork out $899.00 (US Dollars) PER MONTH for the "Celebrity Stork" membership (coming soon) may be too much for most Roku owners to bear - even with home visits from nutritionists and personal stylists !!

N.B. Although you will need a full membership to SkinnyStork to continue with your program, after the two-week free trial has finished, the good news is... THERE IS NO CONTRACT, which means that YOU ARE FREE TO CANCEL AT ANY TIME or even change to & from their eco-friendly membership, to suit your own requirements. Meanwhile, payment(s) can be made online with a card where you can always view your latest statements if necessary.

ALSO: The prices quoted for the various membership plans associated with this channel are in $USD (U.S. Dollars) because that is how they are shown on the website, when you follow the link to create your SkinnyStork Membership. Currently, you will not find any prices quoted in £GBP (British Pounds)... even in the channel description that is included among the channel details for the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. Needless to say, until that changes, the price you actually pay will depend entirely on the applicable exchange rate at the time you take out your subscription and may also vary based on your chosen method of payment.

DIRECSHOP TELEVISION.....................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

RADIO RANCHITO.................................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

N.B. Since this channel does not currently feature in the Roku (USA) Channel Store, the link above is for the Official Website of Radio Ranchito. It may further interest you to know that the Radio Ranchito channel currently features a CHANNEL ARRAY that has THREE SUB-CHANNELS including LIVE STREAMS for both "Ranchito TV" and "Radio Ranchito" PLUS an assortment of archived video from various Ranchito TV episodes.

You may already have noticed (either from the channel icon, or the weblink, above) that the Radio Ranchito channel originates in Mexico and, as such, is best suited to Roku owners who are fluent in Spanish. However, that is not to say that the music offered through Radio Ranchito cannot be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of their native tongue, assuming it is to their particular taste in music of course.

If you wish to connect with Radio Ranchito, you can do so via their Twitter Feed: @Radio_Ranchito although, from my own experience, they do not appear to be prolific "tweeters" and (obviously) communicate primarily in their native language so a knowledge of the Spanish written word would be advantageous. Lastly, and no doubt due (again) to the fact that the Radio Ranchito channel has not yet been added to the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store, there is no Roku Guide Review available. If & when this situation changes, I will add a link to this post.

POST-IT NEWS.....................................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER.....................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

NISSAN COMMUNICATIONS..................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

IWL PRO WRESTLING............................COST: FREE / $10.00 (MONTHLY) [Roku Guide Review]

You can also access a small archive of SCR (Steel Cage Radio) podcasts and the debut IWL Roku podcast by Justin Ryke, officially referred to as 'RykeCast'.

ADDED BONUS: As an EXTRA INCENTIVE to ADD the IWL Pro Wrestling channel TO YOUR ROKU PLAYER, the folks behind this "Insane Wrestling" sports channel are making their next iPPV event, on 28th June 2013, completely FREE-TO-VIEW meaning the LIVE VIDEO STREAM will be available FREE to Roku users who have installed the channel beforehand. Not bad, eh?!!

If "Insane Wrestling" really is your thing, however, you're probably going to want to sign-up for a MONTHLY 'IWL Plus' SUBSCRIPTION to take full advantage of unlimited access to all PPV events, PLUS the full range of videos on offer via the VOD library AND the additional EXCLUSIVE MATERIAL which is ONLY AVAILABLE to those who pay for such access. If you're interested, you can LEARN MORE about the channel and the benefits of an IWL Plus monthly subscription VIA THIS LINK. Should you then decide to go ahead and subscribe, you will first need to REGISTER & CREATE an IWL Profile and you're just moments away from unlimited "Insane Wrestling" on Roku !!

N.B. Needless to say, until that changes, the price you actually pay will depend entirely on the applicable exchange rate at the time you take out your subscription and may also vary based on your chosen method of payment.

ANDREW WOMMACK MINISTRIES........................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

So... whether it's wrestling, religion, fitness & health, shopping, mexican radio, or podcasts on technology, homeopathy, self-improvement, psychic readngs, style & fashion or body, mind & spirit, we've pretty much got all of those bases covered with the above selection of NEW ADDITIONS to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. I'm also glad to say that, FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW, we've managed to exceed the number of channels which made it into the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store during the same time-frame (there were six, in case you were wondering, plus one more which got left out the week before). Again, it was a close-run contest and there wasn't much in it really. Still, no matter which side of the pond you are on, we can all count ourselves lucky to have been given SOME NEW CHOICES this week, rather than none at all, I'm sure you agree ?!!

Meanwhile, hopefully everyone in the UK with a Roku player managed to find something they like within the eight channels outlined above. If not, then you'll have to pay us a visit another time when, with any luck, there will be something more to your liking. Afterall, there's no point installing every channel because, as I've said before, when it comes to adding new channels to your Roku player, IT'S YOUR CHOICE and, as with all things Roku... THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS !!

So, be sure to come back in seven days' time for my next 'Weekly RoundUp' and, if you can't wait that long, remember you can always keep up with the UK Roku action (as it happens) throughout the coming week, by following our Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels where up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related (here in the UK) is posted on a daily basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!
