A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku - Day #5 SO, IS IT B-MOVIES... OR BLOODY VALLEY FILMS ??!!!

Welcome back, Boils & Ghouls !!

As you are doubtless now accustomed, the 2013 Countdown To Hallowe'en continues and so too does my month-long blogathon "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku". We're now on our fifth installment in this series of posts which began with details of a Hallowe'en ScreamSaver, complete with a spooky soundtrack, followed by a Roku channel dedicated to Vintage Horror Classics (feat. Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, etc) and then some Hallowe'en "How-To" videos covering issues from costumes & make-up, to props, recipes & more. Yesterday, we featured a channel for fans of the paranormal and today we continue the series with something for devotees of independent horror with horror trailers, short films & feature-length horror movies past & present !!

As you might expect from the name, this independent horror movie-based Roku channel can be found in the "Film & TV" genre (i.e. category) of the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store (or, under "Movies & TV", for those in USA). Generally speaking, 'Bloody Valley Films TV' provides a mix of shorts & long-form videos offering a small but constantly changing selection of horror trailers, short films and feature-length horror movies, with the aim of providing new titles every month. The current range offered by 'Bloody Valley Films TV', including IMDB links (where available), is as follows:-

  • Guardian Of The Woods [Short Film] (2012) [dir. Reuben Rox] (RUN TIME: 08m 30s)
  • Chubby Killer [Short Film] (2009) [dir. Reuben Rox] (RUN TIME: 08m 00s)
  • Messiah Of Evil [Feature Film] (1973) [dir. Willard Hyuck] (RUN TIME: 1h 30m)
  • House On Haunted Hill [Feature Film] (1959) [dir. William Castle] (RUN TIME: 1h 15m)
  • The Killer Shrews [Feature Film] (1959) [dir. Ray Kellogg] (RUN TIME: 1h 09m)

PLUS... NEW FOR OCTOBER 2013 you get these two additional titles thrown into the mix:-

  • Guardian Of The Woods II: The Seance (2013) [dir. Reuben Rox] (RUN TIME: 07m 00s)
  • Silent Night, Bloody Night [Feature Film] (1972) [dir. Ted Gershuny] (RUN TIME: 1h 25m)

However, the MAIN FEATURE OF INTEREST, with regard to the forthcoming Hallowe'en festivities, IS the inclusion of THE FULL-LENGTH VERSION OF "Witch Bitch" (aka "Witch Graveyard") available to stream via 'Bloody Valley Films TV' on Roku FOR ONE DAY ONLY, which perhaps unsurprisingly is set to be on Hallowe'en itself... 31st OCTOBER 2013 !!!!!!!

As of now, you can only watch a forty-one second trailer for "Witch Bitch" but, if that peaks your interest sufficiently, be sure to watch the full-length version of the film via 'Bloody Valley Films TV' on Roku when it streams there for Hallowe'en. Meanwhile, all other titles are available to watch at your leisure. Hopefully, they will provide you with even more ways to pass the time between my daily doses of Roku-related Hallowe'en horror in "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku" while, at the same time, at least partly satisfying your appetite for 100% Independent Horror Productions !!

It may further interest you to know that, according to the channel description for 'Bloody Valley Films TV' taken from the Official Roku Website, the channel's content providers are also responsible for the development of 'Bloody Valley Films TV' on Roku so, obviously, their talents don't just end with making original videos to fulfil your independent horror needs. Bloody Valley Films is based out of Southern Oregon and pride themselves on being a 100% independent horror production company, who specialise in the 'Horror' genre. According to the website (see link below) they are currently busy with pre-production for a movie called "Loonies" but several of their past productions are included in the list of films above. One notable exception from their back catalogue is "Day of A Thousand Screams" (2012) [dir. Reuben Rox] which, having previously been available via 'Bloody Valley Films TV' on Roku, has since made way for some of the new content to be added this month (see above).

Anyway, if you'd like to make contact with the developer, you will not be able to do so via either Twitter or Facebook since (currently) they are not set up for these forms of social media. Instead, you will have to rely on sending them an email to find out more about the 'Bloody Valley Films TV' channel for Roku. Details of their contact email address can be found at the bottom of the page for the official website of "Witch Bitch" [aka "Witch Graveyard"] which can be found VIA THIS LINK !!

For those of you who'd like to add this channel to the Hallowe'en-themed entertainment on your Roku player(s) but are, perhaps, unable to access the Channel Store on your device at this precise moment... you can also take care of things by simply LOGGING-IN to your Online Roku Account, scrolling down to the 'Manage Account' section, and using the "Add a Private Channel" option. That way, when you do have access to your Roku player, 'Bloody Valley Films TV' will be there ready for you to watch whenever you choose !! All you must do to achieve this, is to type the following access code into the data entry field under "Add a Private Channel" and click the blue 'Add Channel' button:-

ACCESS CODE:- bloodyvalleyfilms

Still, that's pretty much all there is to it, except to point out that 'Bloody Valley Films TV' has been given an average score of "3.5 out of 5" from 52 ratings (so far) in the channel store description on the Official Roku Website. That statistic alone should be reason enough to give it a try !!

Having said that, if this particular Hallowe'en / Horror themed Roku channel was not to your liking then FEAR NOT because there will be another one featured in tomorrow's post, continuing the month-long blogathon that is: "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku"which will bring you more devilish delights EACH AND EVERY DAY from now UNTIL HALLOWE'EN and, when you're done with this blog, don't forget to visit the other contributors to the 2013 Countdown To Hallowe'en and see what Hallowe'en treats they have in store for you between now and 31st October !!

Fangs, as always, for stopping by !!
