Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #155

Hi, everyone !!

Having made the point in my previous post - from last week - that, for six weeks straight, we had managed to exceed the average of sixteen new channel additions per week (set during 2015) it is (perhaps) of no surprise that we fell just short of that mark during the past seven day period. Even so... there's a handful of new apps within the "Music" genre, including one from internet radio aggregator 'Radionomy' - DETAILS HERE - whose groundbreaking platform offers a wide variety of both music and talk radio and will appeal to those wishing to discover and listen to online stations from all around the world. For those times when you might be away from your Roku device(s) they also have FREE APPS for iOS and Android mobile devices so you can have music wherever you go, without the need for rings on your fingers or bells on your toes! ;-)

Given that 'TuneIn' has always been popular among Roku users, I'm sure this new 'Radionomy' app will be equally well received on the streaming media platform. Those wishing to connect with the folks behind the 'Radionomy' channel can do so easily via their Twitter Feed: @Radionomy as well as their FB page at:- Radionomy (Facebook) which might also be useful for those looking to create their own online stations, as the free global service also provides it's members with free tools for them to distribute, promote and/or monetise their own radio ventures. Who knows... we may even be listening to your radio station on our Roku device(s) at some point in the future?!! :-)

If the selection of new music / radio channels doesn't appeal, then perhaps a change of scenery courtesy of the new "Math Theme" from Roku will get you thinking?! Here's one of the screenshots from the description on the Roku website, so you can see if the numbers add up:-

Now, we're not saying that this them will help you solve the puzzle of what to watch next on your Roku device(s) and UK Roku owners may have preferred them to use "Maths", rather than "Math" as in the USA, but either way... you'll find links to further details on all of the current crop of new channel additions beneath each of the channel icons shown below.

Speaking of which... as has been the case for the past few weeks, there are some "missing" links to 'Roku Guide' reviews for the channels in the latter part of this list. As usual, these will be added to this post as and when they become available. Meanwhile, it is worth noting that all of the channels are available to Roku owners in the USA (as evidenced by their inclusion in the Roku web channel store) and readers of this blog from the United States can follow the links (provided below) to the Roku channel descriptions until such time as their reviews are published by 'Roku Guide'. *********************************************

Anyhow, like it or not, that is your lot for this week and, whilst it barely amounts to one half of the twenty-eight channels which made it into the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store during the same time-frame, it's better to get 14 NEW CHANNELS than none at all... as I'm sure you'll agree?!

Either way, hopefully everyone in the UK with a Roku player managed to find something they like within the fourteen "public" channels outlined above... or else from the "private" channels, whose access codes were "gifted" to you via the companion Twitter Feed to this blog, at various points throughout the last seven days. That said, if you didn't find anything to add to your Roku channel selection from the assortment of channels on offer this week, you can always pay us a visit another time when, with any luck, there will be something more to your liking. Afterall, there's no point installing every channel because, like I've said before... when it comes to adding new channels to your Roku, IT'S YOUR CHOICE  as with all things Roku... THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS!

*********************************************

As mentioned previously, you can expect my usual summary of all the goings-on (or not) in the (severely restricted) Roku Channel Store that features on NowTV Boxes to follow in the near future. Meanwhile, whether you happen to own a Roku player, a NowTV Box, OR BOTH, as I do... be sure to check my earlier posts (as mentioned before) for all the new additions to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store in each of the eighty-one preceding weeks and then come back again in seven days' time for my next 'Weekly RoundUp'. However, if you can't wait that long, remember you can always keep up with all the UK Roku action (as it happens) throughout the coming week, by following the companion Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels where up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related (here in the UK) is posted on a daily basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!
