Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #266

Hi, everyone !!

Before I get into the Roku-specific news from the last seven days, I'd just like to draw your attention to a Roku-related item - in the shape of a LIMITED-TIME SPECIAL OFFER from 'NowTV' - the details for which I first shared (as I often do) via my Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels during the past week. The offer pertains to the 'NOW TV Sport Month Pass' and, factoring-in the various passes that are thrown-in when you make the purchase, stands to save you ALMOST TWO-THIRDS OFF the combined cost of £99.89 which 'NowTV' would otherwise charge for that particular combination of: 1-month 'NOW TV Sport Pass' (RRP £33.99) + 3-month 'Sky Cinema Pass' (RRP £9.99pm = £29.97) + 3-month 'NOW TV Entertainment Pass' (RRP £7.99pm = £23.97) + 3-month 'NOW TV Kids Pass' (RRP £3.99pm = £11.97). Those of you who don't wish to commit for longer than one month for the 'NOW TV Sport Pass', and/or three months for each of the other passes should remember to cancel all of them (on an individual basis) to avoid the "auto-renewal" process which would mean your being charged the full 'RRP' for each one (as detailed above) - making a grand total of £55.96 per month, in the event that you forget to cancel all of them. TOP TIP: Cancel the passes as soon as the offer has been applied, bearing in mind it might take 'NOW TV' up to 48 hours from purchase to activate them, because you can still keep watching until the original end (i.e. auto-renewal) date - but will avoid any additional (unwanted) charges, as each pass falls due for renewal! ;-) :-)

HINT: Please CLICK on the above image TO ENLARGE IT for easier viewing !!

Anyone wishing to purchase the 'Big NOW TV Bundle' should visit the offers page on the 'NowTV' website, where there is a button marked "Get Offer" which you can click-on to redeem it as a new customer (i.e. someone who does not already have an 'NOW TV' account). Those of you who are already signed-up, but would like to try and redeem this 'Big NOW TV Bundle' offer by applying a voucher code can simply login to your 'NowTV' account and click the 'Apply a voucher' option in the section for the 'NOW TV Sport Month Pass' accessed via 'My Passes' from the 'My Account' tab at the top of the home page for the official website of 'NowTV' - after that, it's just a case of entering the VOUCHER CODE: SPMPWCI24XW3 which is needed to redeem it - provided, of course, you meet all of the the T&C's to do so! ;-) TOP TIP: You can tell if the voucher code has been applied because the price on the confirmation page will be listed as £33.98 (i.e. the offer price) as opposed to the usual (slightly) higher price of £33.99 for a 'NOW TV Sport Month Pass'. ALSO REMEMBER: The terms state that it may take up to 48-hours for the various 3-month passes (Movies, Entertainment & Kids) to be applied so, although it only mentions the 'NOW TV Sport Month Pass' on the purchase page, you should (hopefully) see the other passes added within a day or two! Anyway, with no other major Roku-related (or Roku-specific) news to share with you this week, I'm now going to turn my attention to bringing you details for all the latest new Roku channels (apps) which were released during the seven days since my last 'Weekly RoundUp' post was published! :-)

Firstly, though, I'd just like to mention (on a not entirely un-related note) that I have now added links to some (though, still not all) of the 'Roku Guide' reviews that were previously "missing" for many of the new Roku channels released in the last few weeks... so, if you'd like to see an independent appraisal of those, be sure to check-out my post from last week (see link above), which (itself) contains a link to the previous week's post (and so-on, and so-forth), for details of where to find them. Unfortunately, there are (again) more "missing" links to the 'Roku Guide' reviews for over fifty per cent of the channels published during the last seven days... which means, much like many other posts from recent months, I'm going to have to leave it for each of you to (once more) access those details on your own. As of two months ago, you can choose to do that either via the built-in channel store on your Roku device(s)... or else, by following the links provided in each post to the relevant channel description(s) from the Roku Web Channel Store. Meanwhile, once the "missing" reviews have been published by 'Roku Guide', I will (as I have done previously) ensure that I add the relevant links to each post. Apologies (as always) for any inconvenience that may be caused by the absence of active links to an independent review for so many of these new apps but, like I say, it was entirely out of my hands. Hopefully they will catch-up on the ones they missed sometime in the coming week!?! ;-) :-)

Still, back to the list... which, as always, will help you to identify the very latest apps that have been added to Roku devices in the UK. Other websites offering Roku channel listings will base their contents on the Roku USA Channel Store, which means they also include apps that are unavailable to UK Roku users. So, like I've said before... if you really want to know what's available channel-wise, for owners of Roku devices in the UK, you need to be reading this blog each and every week! ;-) :-)

With twice the number of active links to check out, not just for this week... but each and every post that has been previously published as part of my 'Weekly RoundUp' series over the last five years, there's a *lot* of reading to catch-up on. So, without further ado, here's my 'Weekly RoundUp' of all new Roku channels released between 8th April 2018 and 14th April 2018:-

***FILED UNDER: "RELIGIOUS" in Roku UK Channel Store WHEN FIRST RELEASED***

PLEASE NOTE:- That, although this "Hillsong Channel" app is FREE-TO-ADD to Roku devices and does include a 30-DAY FREE TRIAL as well as several videos that are FREE-TO-STREAM by anyone prepared to hunt through the channel and find them, those wishing to have full access to the entire range of original Christian-themed series, and other programming from this religious-based channel, should note that A SUBSCRIPTION IS REQUIRED to "unlock" the vast majority of the content on offer. The cost to maintain access to this faith-based programming which the whole family can watch, and that also includes exclusive shows for kids and youth, is USD $7.99 PER MONTH and begins immediately after the initial one-month trial period has ended. However, there are savings to be made by anyone choosing to subscribe in the long-term thanks to the alternative payment plan they offer in the shape of an ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OPTION which will save you around nine dollars over the twelve-month subscription term. While this may not seem like a huge discount, this method of payment, at a cost of USD $86.99 PER YEAR, is equivalent to getting another month of viewing at no cost in addition to the free 30-day promo period when you start your subscription. You can find more information on how to access the inspirational entertainment on the "Hillsong Channel" by paying a visit to their official website online. Should you have further questions, and need to get in touch with them, there are opportunities to do so via their Twitter Feed: @hillsong as well as through their official FB page: Hillsong Channel (Facebook) and, whichever you choose, I'm sure they will be only too pleased to hear from you and happy to provide any extra information you may require! :-)

GAMER WORLD NEWS..................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

***FILED UNDER: "APPS" in the Roku UK Channel Store WHEN FIRST RELEASED***

*********************************************

Anyhow, like it or not, that is your lot for this week and, while it barely amounts to more than fifty per cent of the twenty-five channels that made it into the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store in the same time-frame, it's better to get 13 NEW CHANNELS than none at all... as I'm sure you agree!?! Just ask anyone who owns a NowTV Box, because they actually lost one channel this week! ;-) :-)

In any event, hopefully everyone in the UK with a Roku player managed to find something they like within the thirteen "public" channels outlined above... or else from the "private" channels, whose access codes were "gifted" to you via the companion Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels to this blog, at various points throughout the past few weeks. However, if you didn't find anything to add to your Roku channel selection from the assortment of channels on offer this week, you can always pay us a visit another time when, with any luck, there will be something more to your liking. After all, there's no point installing every channel because, like I say... when it comes to adding new channels to your Roku, IT'S YOUR CHOICE and, as with all things Roku... THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS!

*********************************************

As mentioned previously, you can expect my usual summary of all the goings-on (or not) in the (severely restricted) Roku Channel Store (aka "App Store") that features on NowTV Boxes to follow in the near future. Meanwhile, whether you happen to own a Roku player, a NowTV Box, OR BOTH, as I do... be sure to check my earlier posts (as mentioned before) for all the new additions to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store in each of the one hundred and ninety-two preceding weeks and then come back again in seven days' time for my next 'Weekly RoundUp'. However, if you can't wait that long, remember you can always keep up with all the UK Roku action (as it happens) throughout the coming week, by following the companion Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels where up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related (here in the UK) is posted on a daily basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!
